GB7 Minutes 03-27-10
Attendees: · Verne Wetherholt · Chris Samuels · Lori Klein-Blazek · Ashley Thompson · Robert Reichel · James Richards Open Meeting: · Meeting began at 1:02 PM and quorum was confirmed. · Previous Meeting Minutes were read. o A motion was made by Lori to approve minutes as read. James seconded. Motion passed. Officer Reports: · President, Vice President, Secretary, Directors: None · Treasure’s Rpt: o $12,238.25 + $20 for new membership dues just received + $750 from Fire & Ice for a loan they received in the past. The loan is now paid in full! Great job Fire & Ice!! o Still no outstanding debits. Committee Reports: · Business Affairs: None · Technology: None · Conventions: o Origins: Deadline is past. Events submitted by John Minderman. Approx. 450 events submitted! Large #. o Gen Con: First deadline is past. Events submitted by James Richards. Approx. 294 have been accepted so far. § § Crimson Valor and Starship Troopers have had their events accepted. · Elections: None · Inventory: o Need to re-organize space within garage in May. Date set for May 22nd. Will have GB7 Board Meeting this day at 1pm, and triage on the games before hand. If you are able to come early to help organize and do inventory, please arrive 2-3 hours earlier to help. Will be at Lori Klein-Blazek’s house. o May put some duplicates aside for Chapters to use at individual cons – traveling games! · Local Chapters & Guilds: Nothing new, just what was submitted into the newsletter already. · Membership: o 4 more members. 106 total paid members. o Work on getting the LoEG to renew their members. o Maybe bring the · Newsletter: Should be going out shortly. Just looking for a new cover story. Chapter/Guild Reports: Chapters · Gamers of the Apocalypse: No new report as of 3/27/10. · Hangman: No new report as of 3/27/10. Last report - They have two current GB7 members (but may be possible revitalize them). · League of Extraordinary Gamers: No new report as of 3/27/10. . · MLC: No new report as of 3/27/10.. · Outer Rim: There are 27 active members. A Serenity ongoing campaign started and was continuing here at M-Con. We had several members attending M-Con. Upcoming events – COD Con in the DuPage area April 9-11, with many games being run, and Concentric in Sugar Grove on May 8th. Many of our members will be at both. · Rising · Southern Dragons: No new report as of 3/27/10. · WolfPack: Run weekly games. Preparing for Wolf Con. Starting up Torg in a few weeks, with Bill Blazek. See newsletter for more. They have 15 members still active but a few renewals are needed. Guilds: Sparks Force 7: No new report. However, ran many games at Fire & Ice, and are very active. They are running many events here at M-Con as well. 2009/2010 Conventions: · Fire & Ice: Great success. Made money! · M-Con: Good attendance. About the same as last year. · CODCon: about 27 RPGs being sponsored by GB7, with board games. · Concentric: 13 events submitted so far. · Origins: See Web site. · Gencon: See Web site. · Wolf Con: See Web site. Items in bold are modified from last meeting. o Large Club benefit benefits at Gencon and Origins. § There is no need to buy Badge and then get reimbursement. § There is no need to pay for Hotel Room and then get reimbursement. § Preferred placement of game events. § Advertisement of Ongoing Campaigns in booklet. o Vendor discounts to members (membership cards are being produced). o Play Testing Opportunities (two current opportunities, contact Verne). o Chapter Support (we will contact chapter reps). o Premier participation for On-Going Campaigns (will discuss with judges). o Remote play over the internet for GB7 games events (Chris will research). o Bulletin board on website to set up games and swap (buy/sell) items (coming soon). o GameBase7 branded stuff (Verne will research). o Getting discounts getting into conventions (will be negotiated for upcoming cons). o GB7 Store/Library (this will be firmed up at next meeting). Floor Open to New Business: · New Business o It is time to change signature authority for GB7 bank account: remove Peter and add Verne. o Next Meeting: Location will be Lori Klein-Blazek’s house May 22 at 1 PM, with triage/inventory of games starting around 10 AM. James makes a motion to accept meeting. Rob seconds. New meeting time accepted. A motion was made to close the meeting at 2:01 PM by Lori and seconded by Ashley Thompson. Motion passed. d. |
